Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
The Clarity Studio anticipates insurance paneling by August 2026. Please check the “services and rates” page for the most accurate information about which insurances we accept and when we are able to officially bill insurance.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. As an out-of-network provider, I will happily outline the total expected cost of your sessions upfront so there are never any unexpected financial surprises on your healing journey.
How do payments work?
Debit, credit and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Payments will be charged to the card on file immediately following the counseling session. If payment fails, the client will have an outstanding balance and will be unable to reschedule an appointment until the payment has been satisfied.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session involves taking an in-depth look at your history as a whole, collaborative goal setting, and creating a solid treatment plan for our work together.
What is the difference between an “intake” appointment and a regular “individual therapy” appointment?
An intake session is a more in-depth introductory meeting where we look at your background, set goals and map our your treatment plan. Returning individual therapy appointments are where we begin doing the work. These appointments are usually 50 minutes long instead of a full 60 minutes so that I have time to briefly prepare between clients.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
I’ve been in your shoes before-confused about the process and even a bit unsure about whether therapy was even the right thing for me. Know that everyone in therapy had to start somewhere. If you’re feeling apprehensive, reach out to me for a hassle free vibe check so we can work through those feelings together.
What if I decide we’re not the right fit after the vibe check?
I completely understand! Please know that that is totally okay- sometimes click isn’t there. If you’d like help finding another provider, I am more than happy to provide referrals.
Is this truly a safe space for marginalized identities?
100%. The Clarity Studio is fiercely inclusive, identity affirming and anti-racist. Whether you’re navigating generational or cultural patterns, systemic stress or just want a therapist who isn’t gonna get mad at you for being who you are, your entire self is welcome here.
What ages do you work with?
I primarily work with adults 18 years old and older. On occasion, I may see 16 and 17 year olds on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me to see if we would be a good fit!
Do you provide in-person sessions?
No. The Clarity Studio is currently a 100% virtual practice.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that life happens. To respect both your time and the time of other clients, I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice or missed without notice will be subject to the full fee of the session in accordance with practice policy.
Do you offer other forms of counseling (i.e., family counseling, group counseling, etc.?)
The Clarity Studio currently only offers individual counseling. Individual counseling means one-on-one counseling completely dedicated to you and your growth.
How often will we meet?
Session frequency depends on a few different factors, but especially: clinical necessity, your financial ability and your goals for therapy. There are other factors, but these tend to be the most common. We can strategize what plan works best based on your situation.
What issues do you help with?
I help clients with a multitude of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, mood, bipolar and related disorders, life transitions, career/academic counseling and more. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns about your situation.
